The Athletic’s Tim Spiers has been discussing the recurring shoulder injury which Wolverhampton Wanderers winger Adama Traore currently has.
This season, the Old Gold’s Spanish attacker has dislocated his shoulder on four separate occasions (via Express and Star).
The recurring problem is something which the club’s manager Nuno Espirito Santo has previously admitted worries him about the 24-year-old forward.
In the latest episode of The Athletic’s The Molineux View podcast, Spiers discussed Traore’s shoulder injury and how long he would be out for if he was to have surgery.
He said: “I noticed for a couple of corners he hung back in the centre circle [against Crystal Palace], which was very noticeable.
“Either that was to stop [Wilfried] Zaha on the break, perhaps, or maybe to protect his shoulder by not getting involved in the box in a brawl pre-corner.
“So, they’ve got to be really careful with it, four times it’s popped out now. There’s no window to have surgery.
“I think there’ll be two or three months that he would have to miss if he did have surgery, just judging on what’s happened in the past with people who’ve dislocated shoulders. So, it’s a concern going forward.”
TIF Thoughts…
As can be seen in what Spiers had to say, it seems that Traore will not be able to immediately have surgery on his shoulder due to the amount of time he would be absent for.
Should Adama Traore have surgery to put an end to his shoulder problems?
Yes, it's worth the time absent
No, we'd miss him too much
With the Spaniard having been Wolves’ best-performing player in the league this season with a stellar 7.53/10 average rating (per WhoScored), it seems clear that he would be missed if he was absent for a prolonged period of time.
