Former Wolverhampton Wanderers defender Richard Stearman has heaped praise on the Old Gold’s Spanish winger Adama Traore.

The 32-year-old Huddersfield Town centre-back, initially spent seven years at Molineux having arrived from Leicester City in 2008 and departed for Fulham in 2015 (per Transfermarkt).

However, the Englishman returned to the club for the 2016/17 season on loan from the Cottagers.

Across both stints, Stearman made 254 appearances for the club in which he bagged seven goals and three assists (per Transfermarkt).

The defender recently made an appearance on the latest episode of The Athletic’s The Molineux View podcast and while on it, Stearman heaped praise on Traore prior to the club’s meeting with Sheffield United.

Stearman’s praise seems well-placed, too, as Traore has been Wolves’ star performer this season having scored the best average rating in the team which is comfortably better than the rating of the second-best performer, Raul Jimenez (per WhoScored).
