To start this quiz on Ruben Neves with an easy one, in the region of how much did the Old Gold pay to secure the midfielder's services?

Over the seven appearances the 24-year-old has made in the Premier League, he has averaged a disappointing WhoScored match rating of just 6.36/10, however, only two have been starts, meaning that Podence has not often had a great deal of time to fully immerse himself in a match.

When he has started, the winger has, more often than not, impressed for Wolves, such as against Espanyol in a Europa League fixture, in which the Portuguese earned a 7.57 match rating, as well as the recent Premier League fixture against Everton, when the winger registered a 7.67 rating.

On the subject of Podence, Stafford-Bloor recently spoke of his fondness of the winger on the Football Writers Podcast.

He said: “I really like Daniel Podence, he looks a really good player. I saw him play against Burnley [on Wednesday]. He looks a fantastic player.”

TIF Thoughts…

The £10.8 million-rated Podence certainly does look like an exciting prospect judging by his performances when he has been given a start by Nuno Espirito Santo.

In addition to this, the 24-year-old had highly impressed in the first half of the season when he was still at former club Olympiacos – scoring three goals over 15 appearances in the Greek Super League, as well as scoring one goal and averaging an impressive 6.95 WhoScored match rating throughout his six appearances in the Champions League for the Greek side.

As such, should Adama Traore leave the club this summer, having been linked with several European giants, it would seem that Wolves could well have a ready-made replacement for the Spaniard.
