Former Wolverhampton Wanderers player Dave Edwards has been discussing Nuno Espirito Santo’s ‘Plan B’ with the Old Gold.

The Portuguese manager has been in place at Molineux since the summer of 2017; having succeeded Paul Lambert (per BBC).

Since then, Wolves have been promoted from the Championship and earned a spot in the Europa League in their first season back in the top flight (per Transfermarkt).

However, in the latest episode of The Athletic’s The Molineux View Podcast, Edwards discussed that there may come a time where the 46-year-old manager may need a ‘Plan B’.

To start this quiz on Ruben Neves with an easy one, in the region of how much did the Old Gold pay to secure the midfielder's services?

He said: “One thing which teams will start to do is work out how to do well against Wolves, they’ll watch lots of their games and they’ll see weaknesses, which no one can really find at the moment.

“But once somebody does work out a way to hurt Wolves, they’ve got to be prepared for that.

“I think the only way to counter that is by scoring more goals, but I’m sure Nuno will have a ‘Plan A’/’Plan B’ up his sleeves when this does happen.

“I know he doesn’t like to change formations too often, but he does change the way that the team attacks and through which areas of the pitch they attack.

“He always looks at different weaknesses in the team. It’s never just: ‘This is how we play,’ it’s more: ‘Right, this is how we can hurt the team’.

TIF Thoughts…

As can be seen in what Edwards had to say, he believes that Wolves will need a ‘Plan B’ at some point. However, he also believes that Nuno Santo will have that “up his sleeves”.
