Castles was talking about Traore as a possible replacement for Leroy Sane, who is going to Bayern Munich after Manchester City agreed a deal with the German club.

So, while talking about Sane Castles mentioned Traore and here is what he had to say about the Wolves man.

“It’s obvious you need to find a like-for-like replacement [for Sane], and I think that’s why they’ve [Manchester City] been looking at players, as we told you in the podcast months ago, like Adama Traore.

“Who does have that degree of pace and does have that ability to break defences down, could make that difference in certain matches that will be required to get the points that will be needed to surpass Liverpool in the league and take the title back.

“But look at the asking price, Wolves want €150m [£135.28m] for Adama Traore, and I do not see anyone paying that in this market, but I also don’t see Wolves selling him for a cheap price.

“They’re not in a position where they need to sell for a cheap price.”

It seems as if Castles thinks City see Traore as a possible replacement for Sane but that Wolves want a huge fee for the 24-year-old.

TIF Thoughts…

The asking price for Traore might seem excessive compared to his £22.95m market value on Transfermarkt, but this season he has scored six goals and provided 12 assists in all competitions.

He has also averaged an incredible 7.58 rating from WhoScored for his Premier League appearances this season.

However, it is his improvement from last season that has been the most impressive thing.

Last year, Traore scored just one goal and provided three assists, but this season he has blown both of those stats away.

It will be interesting to see what happens to Traore in the summer.
