Sam Matterface, Alex Crook and Matt Holland discussed the latest Premier League news during the most recent edition of TalkSPORT’s GameDay podcast and at one point during the show, Crook discussed West Ham United manager David Moyes and his attendance at a recent Queens Park Rangers fixture.

QPR earned a 4-3 win over Millwall last Saturday and Crook spent some time discussing West Ham United manager David Moyes’ presence at this game and what the Scottish manager’s intentions could have been during his appearance on a recent edition of TalkSPORT’s GameDay podcast

To start this quiz on Mark Noble with a tough one, in what year did the midfielder make his league debut for the Hammers?

Crook said: “I saw David Moyes at Queens Park Rangers on Saturday, I was there watching the game against Millwall for TalkSPORT – really good game – but he was a busy boy because he was at Charlton before that watching one of his loan players.

“I do wonder who he might’ve been watching at QPR because their best player, undoubtedly, is Eberechi Eze but he’s a number ‘10’, isn’t he? They’ve got quite a few of those already.”

Would Eze be a good signing for West Ham?

YES, DEFINITELY

TIF Thoughts…

It may be fair to say that Eze has been QPR’s best player this term. The 22-year-old has scored 13 goals and provided eight assist in his 45 Championship appearances for the club this season, making him QPR’s joint-top goalscorer and joint-top assist provider in the Championship this term. Eze has also earned a higher average overall rating than any other QPR player for his 45 appearances in the Championship this season according to WhoScored.

With that in mind, it may be understandable why the journalist believes that Moyes may have attended this QPR fixture to watch Eze.

As Crook explained, Eze is a natural attacking midfielder and he has played in that position more often than any other position thus far during his career. As per Transfermarkt, West Ham have got a variety of different players who can play the attacking midfield role, two of whom – Manuel Lanzini and Pablo Fornals, are natural attacking midfielders and have got multiple years remaining on their contracts with the Irons.

However, Eze has played plenty of league games from the left, as well as a central attacking midfield role this season and according to Transfermarkt, while a variety of Irons players can play on the left, only Felipe Anderson is a natural left-winger, so, if the West Ham boss was at this game to watch Eze, then perhaps Moyes believes that, given how much Eze has played on the left-wing this season, he could provide West Ham with a decent left-wing option as well as additional cover for the central attacking midfield position.
