West Ham United insider @ExWHUemployee has been discussing what he believes the Hammers should do in the upcoming transfer window.

Over the previous summer and the last January transfer window, the Irons ploughed £108.18m into transfer dealings and sealed the arrival of nine players (per Transfermarkt).

However, the Irons have still somewhat struggled this season and find themselves embroiled in a relegation scrap at the lower end of the Premier League table (per BBC).

So, in the latest episode of The West Ham Way Podcast, @ExWHUemployee aired where he believed the club should be looking to make reinforcements.

To start this quiz on Mark Noble with a tough one, in what year did the midfielder make his league debut for the Hammers?

He said: “I think we need a new right-back and a new left-back. I would like to see Ben Johnson given some games, possibly before that so I could judge whether he’s good enough to be that person, but certainly, I think we need two full-backs.

“I think we need another centre-back because I think [Fabian] Balbuena is clearly not rated by [David] Moyes. I think we’re just too needing of [Issa] Diop and [Angelo] Ogbonna. So, there should be another one in there.

“I think we need another central midfielder to go alongside [Tomas] Soucek and [Declan] Rice that’s going to really offer that quality, and I think we need another forward definitely, I don’t have faith in Sebastian Haller, as I’ve often said.

“Whilst it’s very harsh to say this about a man that’s just scored four goals, his quality as a forward to be a consistent goalscorer over the season, I’m not confident either on [Michail] Antonio.”

TIF Thoughts…

As can be seen in what @ExWHUemployee had to say, it is clear that he believes that there are a number of problem positions for the Hammers at the moment.

Would you agree that West Ham need reinforcements in those five positions?

Yes, they need strengthening

No, needed elsewhere

Whether David Moyes will have the funds to go out and purchase players in the five positions the in-the-know journalist stated the Irons need, only time will tell.
