In-the-know Hammers man @ExWHUemployee has revealed that West Ham United are looking to ship out Arthur Masuaku this summer.
The DR Congo left-back has been with the Irons since the summer of 2016 after signing for the club from Greek outfit Olympiacos for £6.39m (per Transfermarkt).
In the four years since his arrival, the 26-year-old defender has made 93 appearances for the Hammers in which he has scored one goal and assisted seven (per Transfermarkt).
However, in the latest episode of The West Ham Way podcast, @ExWHUemployee revealed that David Moyes is looking to sell Masuaku this summer.
He said: “He’s on that list, he’ll be gone. I mean, when Moyes came back as a manager, he really rated Masuaku from his first spell.
“I think he was one of the players at the start that he pulled aside, alongside Declan [Rice] and I guess [Mark] Noble and a few others, [he] pulled them to the side and said, ‘Look, I want you to help me turn this around.’
“He was really highly rated by Moyes, but Moyes hasn’t really used him since he’s been back. I think they’ve kind of decided that his problem is, is that no one actually does know what position he is.
“He’s covered for [Aaron] Cresswell at left-back. His defensive ability is very questionable, particularly in the Premier League. So, I think if someone comes in for him, he will go.”
TIF Thoughts…
As can be seen in what the in-the-know pundit had to say, seemingly if someone bids for the £5.85m-rated defender, he will depart the London Stadium.
Should West Ham keep hold of Arthur Masuaku?
No, he's not good enough
Yes, he's a good player
When considering that Masuaku has only delivered a weak 6.60/10 average rating in the league this season (per WhoScored), perhaps it is no surprise that Moyes is willing the sell the player.
