On the latest episode of The Extra Inch podcast, Chris Miller, Nathan Clark and @BardiTFC have been reflecting on the latest goings-on at Tottenham Hotspur, looking back on the win against Everton, and previewing the game against Bournemouth on Thursday night.

One topic of conversation on the recent episode, which was titled ‘The Cult Of Mourinho‘, was Newcastle United winger Allan Saint-Maximin. The north London club was linked with a move for the French winger earlier this week, which perhaps provoked a discussion of the 23-year-old on the podcast.

How well can you remember Spurs' season so far? - Who did Spurs beat in the opening fixture?

Bardi, perhaps jokingly, suggested:

“So, if we’re swapping full-backs that we’ve loaned out for other players, you reckon we’re swapping Danny Rose for Allan Saint-Maximin, then?”

Miller replied, saying:

“Oh, yes, please. He’s definitely not a Mourinho player, but he’s good fun. He’s a lovely, lovely footballer. Really nice feet, good technique. Yeah, I like Saint-Maximin a lot, really like him, big, big fan.”

TIF Thoughts…

Saint-Maximin has enjoyed an impressive first season in the Premier League; having contributed three goals and four assists in 22 appearances, which has seen him average a superb 7.32 rating (per Whoscored).

This is far superior to the likes of Lucas Moura and Erik Lamela, so we can see why Miller would be keen on bringing the Frenchman to North London this summer.

Would you like to see Spurs make a move for Saint-Maximin?

However, with the Newcastle man currently valued at £18 million by Transfermarkt, with five years left on his contract, it seems unlikely that he will be leaving the Toon for cheap any time soon.
