Spurs fans have taken to Twitter to slam the display of Eric Dier in the 3-1 defeat against Sheffield United on Thursday night.
The Englishman was once again starting as a centre-back against the Blades and was actually Spurs’ best player according to Whoscored, earning a 7.02 rating for his performance.
However, despite his seemingly impressive display, you can’t ignore the fact that he was part of the defence that conceded three goals against a Sheffield United side that had failed to score in their first three Premier League matches since the restart (per Sky Sports).
The 26-year-old has kept usual first-team regular Toby Alderweireld on the bench in the first few matches since the Premier League’s resumption, so perhaps we will see Jose Mourinho restore the Belgian international to the starting eleven when Spurs face Everton on Monday night, either in place of Dier or perhaps his centre-back partner Davinson Sanchez.

These Spurs fans clearly weren’t happy with Dier’s display and feel that he isn’t good enough to be a regular starter.
