Spurs fans on Twitter have been reacting to some quotes from Jose Mourinho ahead of Thursday night’s game against Sheffield United.
The Portuguese manager spoke to the press ahead of the game and answered a question on Tanguy Ndombele after recent reports suggested that the 23-year-old no longer wanted to play under him. Here’s how he responded:
“No problem with Tanguy. He’s in a big club where he has to compete with other guys. He’s an option for me, a very good player who will probably be playing tomorrow. There is no problem, there is no story.” (per Football.London)
The former Lyon man has been left on the bench for both of Spurs’ games since the restart, but it seems as if he will make an appearance at Bramall Lane on Thursday night. The French international has made just 19 appearances in the Premier League so far this season; contributing two goals and two assists, which has seen him average a disappointing 6.76 rating (per WhoScored).
He will perhaps have to improve on that level of performance if he wants to keep his spot in Mourinho’s squad following Thursday night if he does actually make an appearance.
Do you think Ndombele will play against Sheffield United?
Yes

It seems as if some Spurs fans are relieved by the news, and want to see the Frenchman start on Thursday evening.

However, some Spurs fans seemed to doubt Mourinho’s comments, with one fan suggesting that he made the same point before the season restarted, which is arguably true, as the 57-year-old confirmed that Ndombele would be ‘ready’ to face Manchester United, but then he was left on the bench.
That’s exactly what he said before season restarted

One fan even stated that Ndombele’s inclusion may mean that Giovanni Lo Celso doesn’t star.

Overall, it seems as if the majority of Spurs fans are excited by Mourinho’s comments, but some Lilywhites supporters remain sceptical.
