Spurs fans on Twitter have been reacting to the latest reported news on former Lilywhites winger Marcus Edwards.
According to Portuguese news outlet A Bola (via Spurs Express), the Englishman’s departure from Vitoria Guimaraes this summer is considered to be ‘inevitable’, with the Lilywhites eager to bring him back to the club. The 21-year-old is a Spurs academy graduate, and made just one senior appearance for the north London club, before joining the Liga NOS side last summer.
The winger, who was once compared to Lionel Messi by former Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino, has impressed in his first season with Vitoria, contributing six goals and five assists in 23 appearances in the Portuguese top-flight, which has seen him average a superb 7.35 rating (per WhoScored).

Not every Spurs fan is convinced it would be a good idea to bring Edwards back, however.

Poch got him out, so will he agree to play under Jose?
I can see him fit in our 442 system, but what he said about he won’t comeback to the club that mistreated him is concerning— Riko (@riko_z99) July 13, 2020
Overall, it seems as if the majority of Spurs fans would love to see Edwards return to the Lilywhites this summer.
