Spurs fans on Twitter have been reacting to the latest reported update on Southampton midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.
According to Telegraph Sport (via Daily Hotspur), the North London club are confident of completing a deal for the Danish international this summer, as long as they can raise enough funds through player sales. Spurs have regularly been linked with a move for the 24-year-old in recent months, but it seems as if in order to match the Saints’ asking price, they will need to move some players on.
So far this season, the former Bayern Munich man has earned a 6.86 average rating across 30 appearances in the Premier League with Southampton (per Whoscored). Since joining the club in 2016, the midfielder has gone on to make 106 appearances in the English top-flight; contributing four goals and five assists (per Transfermarkt).

Sorry, but it is utterly inconceivable that a club of Spurs stature HAS to sell players before buying players such as Pierre-Emile Holbjerg. No disrespect to him, but I just don’t believe it.
