Spurs fans on Twitter have flocked to a tweet from Football.London journalist Alasdair Gold regarding the future of Tanguy Ndombele.
There have been rumours circulating that Inter are interested in signing the former Lyon man this summer, but the journalist was quick to quash any suggestion that Spurs were keen to cash in on the 23-year-old. He wrote on Twitter, saying:
“I’m told Spurs [are] not looking to sell Tanguy Ndombele and [there have been] no talks over it. They believe the young Frenchman needs time to adapt to a new country, after moving away from his family and so far [been] held back by injuries. Club are determined to give him the time he needs to be a success.”
The Frenchman has struggled in his first season with the Lilywhites, having joined for a club-record fee last summer, making just 21 appearances in the Premier League last season; in which he averaged a disappointing 6.71/10 rating (per WhoScored). The midfielder’s fitness has regularly proved to be an issue, with him having managed to complete 90 minutes on just three occasions in the Premier League in the most recent season.
Do you think Ndombele will prove his worth next season?
Yes
No

Good. It would be an absolute travesty if they gave up on him after a season and swapped him with some rubbish guy Inter dont want. He will be world class in time

Amazing news, Tanguy needs time to settle into the Prem, remember Poch even said it could take him 18 months until we seen the full potential of N’Dombele

When I first saw the report from fabrizio. I felt its strange. Cause levy is not a fool to sell our record signing during this period knowing he will definitely not get a good offer in the current market. This just confirms it. pic.twitter.com/p2aVeOYSdT

Overall, it seems as if the majority of Spurs fans are delighted with this update on Ndombele, and want to see the Frenchman in a Spurs shirt next season, hopefully showing more of why the club paid so much to sign him last summer.
