Tottenham Hotspur news Twitter account @thespursweb caught the attention of some Spurs fans recently after they posted a tweet claiming that ‘Southampton are keen to sign’ 23-year-old Tottenham right-back Kyle Walker-Peters ‘in a £10m permanent transfer’.
As per @thespursweb, this alleged news originated from a report that was recently published by The Sun, which claims that the Saints ‘are racing’ to wrap up the permanent transfer of the right-back, who is currently on loan at St. Mary’s from the Lilywhites.
The Sun’s recent report on this potential transfer states that Spurs are prepared to sell Walker-Peters for £10m and Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhuttl ‘wants the club to act quickly to wrap up a long-term deal to avoid Walker-Peters having his head turned by other offers’.
Plenty of Spurs fans have responded to @thespursweb’s tweet sharing this news to provide their thoughts on this alleged transfer update.

Some Tottenham fans replied to this post to question the £10m transfer fee being reported, with one Spurs fan stating that they believe that this price is ‘a steal’.

Southampton midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg has been linked with a move to Spurs lately, and other Spurs supporters responded to this news by sharing that they would like to see Hojbjerg move to north London as part of this deal for Walker-Peters to move in the other direction.
Would you take £10m for Kyle Walker-Peters?YESNO |
Hojberg coming the other way would suit both. Not a world class player but would be a good asset and toughen up our meek midfield. Need some steel.

You can have him for whatever you want if you give us Hojbjerg ?

Straight swap for Hojbjerg

Judging by these replies, it appears as though Tottenham fans aren’t opposed to seeing Walker-Peters depart from the north London club, provided Spurs receive enough money and/or see Hojbjerg move to Tottenham as part of the deal.
If both of these teams are genuinely interested in one player from the other club at present, then it seems like these two clubs could potentially reach a mutually beneficial deal.
