In the latest video for his YouTube channel, Football.london journalist Alasdair Gold has been discussing Tanguy Ndombele’s latest injury concern.

Jose Mourinho confirmed earlier this week that the Frenchman will miss the remaining two games of the Premier League season through injury, bringing an end to what has been a nightmare debut season in England for the 23-year-old. Fitness issues have plagued the midfielder throughout his first season with the Lilywhites; with the former Lyon man having completed 90 minutes in the Premier League on just three occasions (per WhoScored).

How well can you remember Spurs' season so far? - Who did Spurs beat in the opening fixture?

Here’s what Gold had to say about the club-record signing’s latest injury and his thoughts on Mourinho’s comments on him:

“The way Mourinho spoke about Ndombele last night, it may have just been a turn of phrase and it may have meant absolutely nothing, but taking it after what he said the day before, and also what he’s said in the past and also his previous with players and injuries, it just didn’t quite sound completely innocent to me.

“He essentially said: ‘The players want to help the team’ and then he launched straight into saying: ‘But one player who won’t be helping us is Tanguy Ndombele, he’ll be out for the rest of the season.'”

TIF Thoughts…

From the way Gold phrases it, it does sound as if Mourinho was potentially disappointed with Ndombele’s latest injury and perhaps felt that he could be doing more and offering himself to play for the team. However, when the midfielder has been fit for the past few weeks, he has made just two substitute appearances for the Lilywhites, so you can perhaps not blame the midfielder for wanting to potentially aggravate an injury by making himself available when he might not even get a chance to play.

Do you think Mourinho is being truthful about Ndombele's injury?

It will certainly be interesting to see if Ndombele is still with the Lilywhites at the start of next season.
