Kelly spent a bit of time discussing Spurs’ woes after they were beaten 3-1 by Sheffield United, and he expressed his feelings on Harry Kane.

Here is what he had to say about what Kane might be thinking:

“I think he’s come out of late and made a few remarks that are starting to set alarm bells ringing slightly.

“The team are set up; the stadium’s set up, it’s an amazing place, the way it is now it’s arguably one of the best structures to be in the world.

“They just don’t have the players on the pitch to provide a winning title challenge – look at Liverpool, look at [Manchester] City, look how far everybody has been away from Liverpool and I think for Kane, he needs to see that the club are investing in the players that can get him that title.

“If they don’t do that, it’s a ticking clock.”

It seems as if Kelly feels that if the Spurs do not invest in their squad, then Kane may decide to leave the club.

TIF Thoughts…

Kane has scored 19 goals, in all competitions, this season in just 28 appearances.

Overall, he has scored an incredible 138 Premier League goals, and he is still just 26.

However, he has not won a single trophy yet, and for a player with that sort of goal record, maybe you would expect him to have won something by now. Meanwhile, he has previously suggested that he would be open to a move in search of silverware.

As of yet, that has not happened, though Kane’s recent remarks certainly back up Kelly’s suggestion that the time is ticking to keep the striker in north London.
