On the latest episode of the Last Word On Spurs podcast, Ricky Sacks, Jamie Brown, Lee McQueen and Daniel Merriman discussed the latest goings-on at the North London club and previewed Thursday night’s fixture against Sheffield United

One topic of conversation on the recent episode, which was titled: ‘Another Cup Final‘, was Sheffield United midfielder John Lundstram’s potential injury troubles. The former Oxford United man has been a big part of the Blades’ success so far this season; having contributed four goals and three assists in 30 appearances in the Premier League, which puts him joint-second in terms of assists and joint-third in terms of goals for Sheffield United in the Premier League this season (per WhoScored).

How well can you remember Spurs' season so far? - Who did Spurs beat in the opening fixture?

However, he remains a doubt for the game against Spurs on Thursday night, with Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder confirming that the 26-year-old has had a scan and that he’s “touch and go” for Thursday.

Here’s what Sacks had to say about Sheffield United’s potential injury concerns ahead of the game against Jose Mourinho’s side:

“When you look at Sheffield United, John Lundstram and Jack O’Connell are both doubts for Sheffield United when they welcome Spurs on Thursday. Lundstram is awaiting the results of a scan after being forced off during the defeat to Arsenal in the FA Cup, which we’ve tried our best to not mention up until then so please forgive us.

“Chris Wilder, we’re not expecting him to make wholesale changes because it’s not a massive squad and when a chess piece is missing, it really does affect quite a small squad.”

TIF Thoughts…

O’Connell also looks to have been a big miss for the Blades since the restart; with the former Rochdale loanee having been Sheffield United’s second-best performer in the Premier League so far this season, with a solid 6.94 rating (per WhoScored). Chris Wilder’s side have really struggled since the restart; with one draw and three losses in all competitions to their name thus far (per Sky Sports).
