Spurs fans have taken to Twitter to slam the performance of Ben Davies in the 1-0 win against Everton on Monday night.
Despite the Welshman impressing against Carlo Ancelotti’s side, earning a 7.45/10 rating as he helped the north London club to just their sixth Premier League clean sheet of the season, a lot of fans were still critical of his display. The 27-year-old has struggled throughout the season, having averaged a disappointing 6.72 rating across his 13 appearances the season – with no goals or assists to his name (per WhoScored).
The £15.75 million-rated man is perhaps unfortunate to face criticism, considering WhoScored rated him as the best player on the pitch during Monday’s win. The former Swansea man suffered an ankle injury that kept him out for a significant period (per Transfermarkt) earlier in the season, but he has started every single one of Spurs’ games since the Premier League restart and looks to be an important part of Jose Mourinho’s defensive setup.

I’d be over the moon to never see Sissoko and Ben Davies Wear a Tottenham shirt ever again. Absolute JUNK, #COYS #THFC

Played worse than we did vs Shef Utd.
Davies, Aurier, Sissoko ,Moura all absolutely terrible in possession, wasteful, lax and irresponsible time after time. The rest were reasonable.Everton absolutely diabolical #Coys #thfc

Some Spurs fans seem to believe that Davies is far from good enough for the Lilywhites.
Spurs fans cuss Aurier week in week out, while Ben Davies continues to nick a living #COYS #THFC

Ben Davies should be nowhere near this team! Let’s stop wasting Sessengon! @SpursOfficial #THFC #COYS

Spurs fans continued to be critical of the left-back in their tweets.
Aurier and Davies as your full backs. Honestly just says it all about the decline. Both players offer nothing #thfc

My god if Sesssngnon can’t even get a chance ahead of Davies, then he really can’t be worth anywhere near the £30m we paid for him!!! #COYS #THFC Davies is ok, but Sess really needs a go now

These Spurs fans were clearly less than happy with Davies, but he is perhaps being unfairly treated considering Spurs won and kept a clean sheet.
