Spurs fans have taken to Twitter to slam the performance of Serge Aurier in the 3-1 defeat against Sheffield United on Thursday night.
The Ivory Coast international, who is valued at £14.4 million (as per Transfermarkt), struggled throughout the game against the Blades; earning a disappointing 6.29 rating for his performance. The right-back had been one of Spurs’ better performers so far this season in the Premier League; having averaged a 7.16 rating for his performances in the top-flight, with one goal and five assists to his name (per Whoscored).
Spurs’ defence struggled throughout the game against Chris Wilder’s side and were described as having gone AWOL by Evening Standard journalist Jonathan Veal after Lys Mousset scored Sheffield United’s second. Jose Mourinho’s side earned just their fifth clean sheet of the season in the 2-0 win against West Ham last week, but their defence looked shaky throughout the game against the Blades, with defeat surely all but ending their hopes of securing a Champions League spot for next season.
Was Aurier Spurs' worst player against Sheffield United?

Aurier, Sissoko, Davies, Sanchez, Dier, Lamela and Lucas just get them out the door, absolutely stealing a wage at this club. Pathetic. #THFC

Serge Aurier: 4
Didn’t do anything going forward and failed to track a runner for the 2nd goal but nothing we shouldn’t expect by now from Aurier.

Aurier and Davies would struggle to hit water if they fell out a canoe. Couldn’t pick one player out from a cross all night. Absolutely useless.
