Spurs fans on Twitter have been reacting to the latest transfer rumour linking their club with a move for Newcastle United winger Allan Saint-Maximin.

According to the Daily Mail (via Ricky Sacks), the north London club have expressed a formal interest in the Frenchman, with Jose Mourinho willing to offload Danny Rose and Juan Foyth plus cash in a potential transfer deal.

How well can you remember Spurs' season so far? - Who did Spurs beat in the opening fixture?

Newcastle signed the 23-year-old in a £16.5 million transfer deal last summer, and he has impressed in his first campaign in the Premier League; contributing three goals and four assists in the top-flight, which has seen him average a 7.32 rating (per WhoScored).

Considering the winger is contracted with the Toon until 2025 and is currently valued at £18 million by Transfermarkt, it is perhaps safe to assume that Steve Bruce’s side would demand a hefty fee for the former Nice man this summer. If the Magpies’ impending takeover also goes through, it is hard to see the prospective new owners being keen to part ways with the man who has been Newcastle’s best performer in the Premier League this season.

Would Saint-Maximin be a good signing for Spurs?

Reaction from Spurs fans to the reported interest in Saint-Maximin can be seen in the tweets below.

Some Spurs fans expressed concerns that they are being linked with another winger, having already brought in Steven Bergwijn from PSV Eindhoven in the January transfer window, with the likes of Lucas Moura, Erik Lamela and Heung-min Son also available to play in that position (per Transfermarkt).

Other Spurs fans seem to think he would be a great addition, however.

Overall, it seems as if a lot of Spurs fans would be happy if their club made a move for Saint-Maximin this summer.
