Spurs fans on Twitter have been reacting to some quotes from former Liverpool midfielder Jamie Redknapp regarding Spurs’ disallowed goal against Sheffield United on Thursday evening.
Jose Mourinho’s side thought they had equalised shortly after Sander Berge’s opener, but Harry Kane’s effort was ruled out due to a handball from Lucas Moura in the build-up. Speaking on Sky Sports’ coverage (per Football Daily) of the game, Redknapp described it as: ‘The worst decision I’ve ever seen.”
The introduction of the rule stating that if the ball touches a player’s hand or arm during the build-up to a goal, even accidentally, then that goal will be disallowed, has certainly led to some controversy this season. The Lilywhites can certainly feel hard done by on this occasion, as the ball was blasted into Moura’s arm while he was on the floor after being fouled, and yet it was Sheffield United who ended up with the free-kick (per The Telegraph).
Do you agree with Redknapp?
Yes
No
However, considering the fact that the beneficiaries of this decision, Sheffield United, saw a clear and obvious goal not given in the Premier League’s re-opening game against Aston Villa (per BBC), we feel it’s a bit strong to consider it the worst decision ever seen, especially as the person who made the decision was only sticking to the rules that are in place.
Reaction from Spurs fans to Redknapp’s comments can be seen in the tweets below.

Other Spurs fans feel that appointing Mourinho as manager was a worse decision.
Is he talking about Levy’s decision to sack Poch and bring in the fraud Mourinho?

First time I’ve heard him say something genuinely objective about Spurs since Harry was in charge

These Spurs fans certainly seem surprised to hear that Redknapp described it as a poor decision.
