Spurs fans on Twitter have been reacting to some quotes from former striker Darren Bent regarding Aston Villa centre-back Tyrone Mings.
The 36-year-old spoke to Football Insider (via The Spurs Web), suggesting that the England international would be a worthwhile signing for the Lilywhites this summer.
He said: “For them, I thought, well, you need defenders, I thought what about Tyrone Mings going from Aston Villa to Spurs?
“£30m, natural left-sided player, he’s got a little bit of pace about him as well and so that could work. I’d be surprised if they’re not in the market for him.”
The 27-year-old has made 32 appearances for Villa in the Premier League so far this season; averaging a disappointing 6.63 rating (per WhoScored). Dean Smith’s side have kept just seven clean sheets in the top flight so far this season, which has no doubt contributed to their disappointing season, although the Villans sit outside of the relegation spots ahead of the final game of the season.
Would you take Mings at Spurs?

I’d love to have Ming’s but, sadly, he’s now out of our price range along with Ake.

However, not all Spurs fans are convinced by the 27-year-old.

Overall, it seems as if there is a split between Spurs fans when considering whether or not Mings would be a good signing for the Lilywhites this summer.
