Spurs fans have been reacting to an announcement from the club, which suggests that the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is set to play host to a ‘high-profile’ rugby union match in 2021.
The club confirmed on its Twitter page that it is their intention to stage a game between Saracens and DHL Stormers at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium in 2021. The club had planned to play host to a number of events this summer, but unfortunately, they were either postponed or cancelled due to the impact of the current viral outbreak, as well as the Premier League season obviously extending much further than it usually would, due to the suspension earlier this year.
The club shared more details on their website, writing:
“This exciting clash is due to take place in 2021 with the club, Saracens and DHL Stormers all currently working closely together to confirm the details.”

No
Reaction from Spurs fans to the club’s announcement can be seen in the tweets below. Plenty of Spurs fans seem frustrated that the club is sharing non-football news.
If you’re going to post this stuff. It would be nice to have some specifics from the club as how this directly impacts the football side. As in £3m will be made from this event that will go directly toward football operations ?

No one cares.

Not interested in the slightest. If you want to announce a signing to improve the squad and the chances of any silverware then go ahead. ENIC are proving themselves fantastic property developers but clueless at constructing a winning football team

Levy blatantly showing us that he doesn’t care about decent investments of the FOOTBALL team. He doesn’t care.

Some Spurs fans were perhaps a little sarcastic in their replies.
Absolutely fantastic news. I love this club so much. You make me so proud smashing records creating history everyday it seems. Wow!!! Liverpool May have won the league but this is right up there alongside it in my opinion. YES!!!!!!!

Overall, it seems clear that a lot of Spurs fans aren’t too impressed with the news and feel it has very little to do with the football club itself.
