A lot of Newcastle United fans have replied to a post from Steve Wraith after he offered his view on the latest stories around the Magpies’ proposed takeover.
Wraith claimed that the takeover had now been turned into a battle by Qatar and those who support them and that Newcastle fans were collateral damage, calling out for an answer to the long-running saga.
This drew the attention of these Toon fans who agree with Wraith.
Completely agree…the language of indefinitely stalled says it all. The negotiations between Ashley and the consortium could stall (and didn’t)….not sure how a supposedly objective O&D test stalls…it is either pass or fail if it is truly objective.

Pif will 100% take them to court

I’m surprised there hasn’t been a protest arranged at SJP

@ChiOnwurah What @stevewraith says above is how thousands of your constituents feel, the effect this is having on peoples mental health is not acceptable, the uk government need to take action, @premierleague we deserve an answer, our club is in limbo #enoughisenough

Spot on Steve, journalists are being used as pawns, the whole Henry Mauriss stinks of Qatari influence. While the PL ponders what to do, we as one of their member clubs suffer, club and fans in limbo with transfer window approaching @premierleague

You can hold your head up high when this is over as you’ve been spot on – carried us when our heads have dropped and remained positive throughout. It’s a big shame what money has done the beautiful game.

Wraith has been very positive on this takeover throughout as a quick look through his timeline will reveal, but this tweet is now just demanding an answer.
Do you agree with Wraith?
Yes, this has gone on long enough
No, let the PL, take their time
The process for Amanda Staveley’s Saudi-backed consortium to buy the Toon was handed to the Premier League in April, where it has remained.
A report emerged on Tuesday from the Daily Mirror claiming that the PL was now unlikely to pass this takeover after Saudi Arabia blocked BeIN Sports from broadcasting in their country.
This could explain why these Toon fans feel the takeover is now dead.
Saudis banning Bein was our answer. There is no takeover now

I think it’s pretty clear it’s over just need the premier league to put us out of our misery.
— Paul Johnson (@johnsonP1977) July 22, 2020
Yeah this is dead now. I think what people are forgetting is the PIF is the country, so whereas Sheff Utd have an individual, we (potentially) have an entire country where it is now impossible to watch the product legally. Not going to happen now, sad.

It has to be said, however, that Wraith makes a very good point.
What might not have helped either is the fact that no one from the PL has said anything official about the process or what stage the process is at.
Richard Masters has repeatedly insisted that the process is confidential and has refused to comment. In doing so, they have arguably allowed speculation to take over, so the Premier League really needs to make a decision on this soon for all concerned.
