Newcastle United fans on Twitter have been responding to the latest social media post from Sky Sports presenter and football journalist Pete Graves.
This comes after Graves shared a post on his official Twitter page responding to a question someone asked him on whether or not he had any new updates concerning the proposed takeover of Newcastle from Amanda Staveley and her Saudi-based consortium.
In response to the question, Graves said: “Like everyone else, I’m stunned at how long it’s taking to get any official word from anywhere. It’s frustrating for all involved… Club, fans, journalists, and those trying to buy the club.”
He then added that the last he heard was that the deal is “still with Prem” meaning that it is still in the hands of the Premier League authorities to check through before an official announcement is made on the matter.
This post from Graves then gathered a lot of replies from Newcastle fans who were quick to share their thoughts on Graves’ words on the situation.
Here’s a sample of Newcastle fans responding to the post from Graves:
Like everyone else I'm stunned at how long it's taking to get any official word from anywhere. Its frustrating for all involved…. Club, fans, journalists and those trying to buy the club. As soon as we have a solid update you'll have it, but last I heard "still with Prem" #nufc https://t.co/KR9SaAziUC

It isn’t going to happen…

It was reported back in May that the deal ‘is awaiting the League’s approval but that process is understood to have been held up given the complexity of broadcast piracy allegations against the Saudi state’.
Its beyond a joke now @premierleague

Will the takeover be announced before the end of the season?
Yes
No
It’s an absolute disgrace, I realise it’s like nothing they’ve had before but they seem so out of their depth both legally & politically its unreal

Now that Graves shared his thoughts on the takeover, this led to a lot of Newcastle fans responding with their thoughts in response.
However, there was one Newcastle fan responding to the post who was more positive towards the situation than others were.
I reckon they are waiting for the right moment. They don’t want thousands at St James’ which would probably be the case as there’s 13 years of frustration to get shot of. It’s the focal point!! It looks likely they will now leave it until the end of this season. ???

It appears that the majority of these Newcastle fans are losing patience and getting fed up with waiting for there to be some sort of official announcement on the proposed takeover.
