A lot of Newcastle United fans have replied to a post from Pete Graves after he offered his view on the proposed takeover of the Toon.
Graves claimed that he wasn’t going to rubbish anyone’s information because his information on the takeover has been wrong.
He then offered an apology before adding that the deal was still with the PL.
This has drawn the attention of many Newcastle fans who feel that Graves has no need to apologise and they seemed confident that the takeover will still go through.
Do you think the deal will still pass?
Yes, I think that eventually it will
No, I think it has been rejected
@PeteGravesTV no need to apologise u only give out solid info and u can only give what u have, it will go through Monday 27th or within that week with a couple of significant signings announcement altogether be like a fairy tale just my opinion I could be wrong but think positive

I’m still feeling 90% confident and will remain to until yourself or anyone from sky sports says that it’s off ??

Money talks people, the @premierleague will be #milking this to ensure financial stability of the league for decades to come with the support of the government. Patience. Here’s to our last game under Ashley!

I’m no expert, but the delay isn’t a good sign, how much time do they need to gather the information required? Surely you would imagine there pushing heaven and earth to get this done? PL hold all the cards, if it does happen, we will find out the details,

Thanks Pete, the O&D test is a fit and proper test, it seems the @premierleague are using this test as leverage for other matters. beIN issue should have nothing to do with the takeover so annoying theyre always mentioned. Thanks for all the info anyway. Im still hopefull ??

The tweet from Graves came after he was asked by a fan what was going on with the takeover after a negative story from the Daily Mirror came out.
The piece claimed that Amanda Staveley’s Saudi-backed consortium’s bid had stalled because Saudi Arabia decided to block beIN Sports last week permanently.
The piece also claimed that Newcastle would prepare for next season as if Mike Ashley owns the club, so it is no wonder that many Toon fans now think that the takeover is off.
Thanks for replying to us anyway Pete. It was fun to dream for a bit #nufc

How many weeks have i been saying this is going to fail… 10 weeks. Looks more and more likely we just need to accept ashley is staying

Other Toon fans used this post to express their anger at the Premier League.
What I dont understand is why Richard masters came out and said, “I want this resolved very quickly” and yet 3 weeks later, still no closer. Its been about 16 weeks now. Its just getting worse each week and the PL don’t really seem bothered about the fans of one of their clubs

Masters and fa have treated one of there clubs disgraceful, when contracts and recruitment are needed for new season, and Newcastle left in limbo ?

It seems as if Graves still thinks the deal is with the PL, so although the Mirror states that the bid is unlikely to be passed, it is still with the PL, and while that is the case, there will be hope.
However, with the transfer window fast approaching, Newcastle need to know a decision from the PL on this sooner rather than later as it is killing the club.
