A lot of Newcastle United fans have replied to a post from NUFC 360, which relays news from an article in The Chronicle about the proposed takeover of Newcastle United.
It claims that Amanda Staveley’s Saudi-backed consortium retains its confidence that the deal will be passed by the Premier League and that it answered the PL’s final questions on Friday.
They had been hoping for a breakthrough this week.
However, the piece also explains that the takeover is so hard to cover because all parties have their own angles on the process as the Toon have been dragged into a geopolitical conflict between Qatar and Saudi Arabia.
This post has drawn the attention of these Toon fans, who appear confused as to where the deal is at.
Do you still have confidence?

Just seems like the league keep moving goalposts, there’s only so much can be asked before a decision needs making. Masters can’t allow this circus to continue

The latest blow in this conflict between Saudi Arabia and Qatar came after the Saudis announced that they were permanently blocking beIN Sports in their country, a move which surprised PIF, the majority owners in this proposed takeover.
The next steps in this saga are unclear, but it seems that these Toon fans might feel a bit more positive.

The deal for Staveley’s consortium to buy the Toon from Mike Ashley was agreed in April, and the deal has been with the Premier League ever since.
Newcastle need a decision as they are in limbo, and the transfer window is fast approaching.
The one positive is that the consortium has answered all of the questions from the Premier League, so maybe a decision is not far away.
