Fans of Newcastle have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays the comments of Liam Kennedy on Newcastle United’s withdrawn takeover bid.
According to Kennedy, who was speaking to TalkSPORT (via NUFC 360), despite the fact that it was announced on Thursday that the Saudi Arabian-backed consortium had pulled out of a bid for the club, the deal is not actually ‘100% dead’, while the Premier League have not yet been ‘informed of pull out’.
In reaction to his comments, fans of the club have flocked to have their say on the matter, with many suggesting that they agree the deal could not be done just yet.
Feels like a stunt to make the PL make a decision. They haven't actually pulled out yet have they??

Find it strange pl hasn’t been informed if they weren’t coming back…

It makes more sense now. Pull out, put the pressure on (hoping they will approve it) then go back in?

While we are unsure exactly how the consortium pulling out of the deal to takeover Newcastle could actually be a move to progress the deal, it would seem as if many of the Magpies fan do believe that there is some truth in Kennedy’s remarks, with many more suggesting that this could be a tactic by PIF, PCP Capital Partners and the Reuben Brothers.
Do you believe that there is a slim chance the takeover deal could still go through?
Yes
No

This a brilliant play by Stavely and PIF, look at the explosion it’s created. No one was made aware of anything and now the pressures right on

If they havent officially informed the PL yet this is surely a last ditch power play. Please tell me im not clutching at straws?!

Despite Kennedy’s comments, as it stands, there is no ongoing takeover of Newcastle United, and we would suggest that it would probably be better for Newcastle fans to try and look ahead, rather than getting caught up on ifs, ands or buts.
