Newcastle United fans on Twitter have been responding to the latest news concerning the club’s proposed takeover. 

This comes after Professor Simon Chadwick shared a post on his Twitter page that contained an article from Middle East Monitor which claims that the “controversial purchase of Newcastle United Football Club by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF) is set to go through, despite ongoing uncertainty” surrounding the deal.

Professor Chadwick captioned his tweet saying that: “after initially being sceptical, KSA’s dogged pursuit of this matter suggests acquisition will go ahead. Next issues are timing & consequences of [the] decision. Otherwise, [the] transfer market faces [the] prospect of cash-rich Saudis gate crashing. Other clubs be aware.”

The article also claimed that Newcastle are “expected” to start the next Premier League season with current owner Mike Ashley still in charge, but that the proposed takeover is still “expected” to happen.

In response to this latest post from Professor Chadwick, some Newcastle fans were excited by this latest update.

Now that Professor Chadwick has shared this post on his Twitter page sharing his thoughts on the proposed deal, this quickly grabbed the attention of a lot of Newcastle fans who were not shy in sharing their responses to his post.

Now that the Premier League season has come to an end, these Newcastle fans will be hoping that the club, their potential owners and the Premier League authorities will be able to get the takeover finalised and bring an end to the waiting that the Newcastle fans have had to do over the past few months.
