A lot of Newcastle United fans have replied to a post from Keith Downie that has comments from Steve Bruce on the proposed takeover of the Toon.

Starting with an easy one, against which club did Shelvey make his Newcastle debut?

The Sky Sports man’s tweet includes quotes from the Newcastle boss, who claims that himself, the club, and the fans all need a takeover decision and that whatever happens, he will prepare for next season.

This has drawn the attention of these Toon fans, who are not happy with the Premier League.

The deal for Amanda Staveley’s Saudi-backed consortium to buy the Toon from Mike Ashley was agreed in April, and a deposit was paid to the current Toon owner.

Do you agree with Bruce?

Yes, there has to be a decision for this soon

No, it will take as long as it takes

However, since then, the PL has not made a decision on the deal, and it is clearly annoying these Toon fans, as well as Bruce.

Newcastle play Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday, and will then only have two games left of the season, still with no knowledge of who their owner is going to be.

That seems like a ridiculous situation, and the Premier League really needs to come to a decision on this as Newcastle are currently in limbo.

This post from Downie led to some Toon fans doubting the takeover.

In his latest blog, Richard Keys suggested that the takeover would be approved by Friday, so it will be interesting to see if that happens.

Bruce says he needs a decision, the club does, and so do the fans, so hopefully Keys is right, and the PL reaches a decision on this.
