Many Newcastle United supporters have been reacting to the club’s recent Twitter post in which they shared some footage from a Martin Dubravka interview.
The Slovakian goalkeeper spoke of how much pride he takes from the fact he has not missed a Premier League game since he made his debut for the Magpies back in February 2018.
The 31-year-old arrived in the North East just over two years ago from Czech side Sparta Prague in a deal reportedly worth £3.6m and according to Transfermarkt.co.uk, he is now valued at £4.95m.
Here is how a sample of the St. James’ Park faithful responded to the interview after it was posted to social media.
One of the only 5 players I’d keep if the takeover happens.
Along with ASM, Almiron, Lascelles and Shelvey.#NUFC

Bruce owes this man a lot. If it wasn’t for Dubravka we would basically be down

@HecoDubravka mate – I can’t speak highly enough of you. You’re a credit to us that’s for sure.

Would you keep Martin Dubravka as the number one goalkeeper even if the takeover is completed?
Yes
No
Based on the above responses, Dubravka is clearly a fan favourite. According to WhoScored.com, his average performance rating in the English top flight this season stands at a respectable 6.73/10. However, some supporters took the opportunity to voice their frustrations with regards to the proposed takeover of the club and the fact there is still yet to be an announcement.
ANNOUNCE TAKEOVER

No one cares, we’ve had it with this season, another nothing season with the bare minimum achieved. @premierleague Will you hurry up & make a decision. If it goes ahead – great, potentially exciting times ahead. If not, at least we can get back to slagging off Ashley & Charnley!

Steve Bruce recently admitted that everybody at the club needs clarity regarding what is happening with the takeover, evidencing the fact that the frustration is being felt within the club as well as by those who follow them.
