Christopher Argyris has been on a recent episode of NUFC Matters with Steve Wraith and has been discussing the proposed takeover of Newcastle United.

Starting with an easy one, against which club did Shelvey make his Newcastle debut?

Argyris, a Newcastle fan who has worked on projects in the Middle East, was one of a few guests that Wraith had on his show to discuss the takeover and all things related to it.

Near the end of the show, Wraith asked his guests what they think will happen with the takeover, and Argyris responded with a positive message.

“It’s going to be good news; good things come to those who wait, we’ve waited 16 weeks, what’s 20 weeks?

“I don’t see us having new ownership by the time the new season starts, but I am optimistic that we will have new owners by at least the end of the transfer window.”

So, it seems as if Argyris believes that the takeover will be completed, but it might go on for a while longer to reach the resolution that will see Mike Ashley replaced by Amanda Staveley’s Saudi-backed consortium.

Would you mind if the takeover went through after the season starts?

No, as long as we are rid of Ashley

TIF Thoughts…

The transfer window is now open, and Steve Bruce must prepare his squad for next season with a budget of £35m plus player sales – unless he managed to get more out of Ashley in his meeting with him on Wednesday.

However, if he didn’t, then Bruce has a limited budget to work with, and if Argyris’ prediction is correct (59:19), the Toon will start the new season with Ashley as owner.

The deal for Staveley’s consortium to take Newcastle from Ashley has stalled as the Premier League have sent back what they require from the consortium for this deal to move forward.

So, until that happens, the Toon are stuck with Ashley; however, if Argyris is right (59:19), Newcastle will have new owners by the time the transfer window closes in October.
