A lot of Newcastle United fans have replied to a post from former midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum after he posted a tweet about the day he signed for the club in 2015.
Wijnaldum claimed that he was grateful to Newcastle for giving him the opportunity to play in England.
The post from the Liverpool man drew the attention of these Toon fans, who heaped praise on Wijnaldum.

Newcastle signed the Dutch international from PSV Eindhoven for £14.4m and he went on to make 40 appearances for the Magpies, scoring 11 goals and providing five assists before departing St. James’ Park the following summer after the Toon were relegated.
Would you have Wijnaldum back at Newcastle?
Yes
No
However, in his time on Tyneside, he did provide some good moments, including a goal on his debut against Southampton and netting four goals in a 6-2 win over Norwich City.
The Toon sold Wijnaldum to Liverpool for £24.75m, where he has gone on to win the Premier League and the UEFA Champions League.
Wijnaldum’s post continued to draw the attention of many Newcastle fans, who heaped praise on the Dutchman.

Since moving to Anfield, Wijnaldum has made 183 appearances for Jurgen Klopp’s men, scoring 18 goals and providing 16 assists.
During his time with Newcastle, Wijnaldum found himself mainly on the left and behind the striker, but he rarely played in central midfield, where he is often found for Liverpool – Klopp using the Dutchman as a central midfielder on 147 occasions to date.
Despite only spending one season with Newcastle, it is good to see that Wijnaldum still has affection for the club, and it is clear that many fans also still have feelings for the Dutchman.
