Many Newcastle United supporters have flocked to @NUFC360‘s tweet in which they relayed the news from a report in The Telegraph claiming Henry Mauriss has ‘stepped up’ his attempts to buy the club.
There is yet to be an official announcement from the Premier League with regards to the proposed takeover of the club by the Saudi-led consortium despite the owners’ and directors’ test proceedings having begun back in April.
The club’s manager, Steve Bruce, recently said publicly that the those associated with the club “need clarity” regarding the takeover – evidence that it’s not just the supporters who have grown frustrated by the whole process.
Following this post, here is how a sample of the St. James’ Park faithful have responded on social media.
Not put a bid in yet, was sent away first time around as he didn’t have a deposit, has come back with nothing else but is planning to be in charge at the start of the new season in about 4 weeks…not a lot of it adds up!

Henry Mauriss is a fraud, probably Qatari funded

Would you be happy to see Steve Bruce continue next season as boss?
Yes
No
It’s clear from the above responses that many of these supporters have chosen to dismiss this latest report. The Telegraph also claims that Mauriss, should he gain control of the club would be willing to give Steve Bruce the chance to prove himself worthy of keeping his position and that hasn’t gone unnoticed by these supporters.
If he’s going to give Bruce a chance he’s lost the fans before he’s even stepped foot in Newcastle
