Newcastle United fans on Twitter have been responding to the latest news concerning Magpies forward Yoshinori Muto.

This comes after Newcastle news Twitter account @NUFC360 shared a post on their page relaying comments from Steve Bruce after seeing his team draw 0-0 against Brighton & Hove Albion on Monday evening.

Starting with an easy one, against which club did Shelvey make his Newcastle debut?

On the topic of Muto and his future at St. James’ Park, Bruce said that he will “sit down” with the forward.

Bruce added that Muto “hasn’t had the best of times under me, game-wise. He’s a great pro, trains well, so I’ve got no problem with him. No issues, it’s just that we have forward players at the minute who are ahead of him.”

This post then gathered a lot of replies from Newcastle fans who were quick to share their thoughts on the matter.

Here’s a sample of Newcastle fans responding to the post:

The 28-year-old, who is currently valued at £4.95m according to Transfermarkt, first signed to Newcastle back in the 2018 summer transfer window from Bundesliga club FSV Mainz for a fee of £9.63 million.

Since then, Muto has gone on to make 28 appearances for the Toon in which he has managed to score just two goals (per Transfermarkt).

This season has seen the attacker make just eight appearances for Newcastle in the Premier League without scoring a goal or grabbing himself an assist.

Do you feel Muto has been unfairly treated this season?

Now that these comments from Bruce have been doing the rounds on Twitter, this paved the way for lots of Newcastle fans to share their thoughts on Bruce’s admission.

It appears that these Newcastle fans don’t seem to agree with Bruce’s point on Muto and the fact that the other players such as Joelinton, Dwight Gayle and Andy Carroll are ahead of Muto in the pecking order.

Considering how Gayle has three goals, Joelinton has two and Carroll is yet to score in the Premier League this season, it’s understandable how these Newcastle fans are struggling to see how Muto has found himself behind those three forwards this year.
