A lot of Newcastle United fans have replied to a post from NUFC 360, which contains a link to an article in The Chronicle about BeIN Sports’ response to Saudi Arabia appealing the World Trade Organisation’s report on piracy.
The piece contains a statement from BeIN on the proposed takeover of Newcastle United; they claim that Saudi Arabia has lied to rightsholders and governments and then curiously appealed a case they said they had won (via The Chronicle).
The statement mentions that the country is ‘trying to pass an honesty and anti-piracy test’ to buy a Premier League football club.
This has not gone down well with these Toon fans, who appear sick of BeIN or are convinced the takeover is now off.
Does this statement bother you?
No, just some more complaining from beIN
Yes, it could cause trouble
There’s only one reason that the takeover hasn’t passed already and it’s basically BeIN sports / Qatar, they’ve run a consistent campaign across the board in the media to stop it. They shouldn’t have so much say in an internal process in the PL.

Honesty and anti piracy test???? do those start before or after the owners and directors test to prove potential buyers have funds to make the purchase??

After the release of the WTO report, Saudi Arabia announced a crackdown on piracy in their country in a bid to get the Premier League to pass the proposed takeover of the Toon.
However, nothing has happened with regards to an announcement, while they followed this up by permanently banning BeIN Sports in their country, and has now appealed the WTO’s decision.
This post, though, continued to draw the attention of these Toon fans, who are clearly fed up of beIN.
Cry more?
They have a right to appeal, they appealed.

The Qatari-based company has been against this takeover by Amanda Staveley’s Saudi-backed consortium from around April.
This latest statement is another dig at the country behind the takeover.
The deal for the Toon to be taken over has stalled, and the Premier League wants further answers on a few issues relating to the structure of the deal and where the power would lie.
Although, this has nothing to do with BeIN’s claims, but that has still not stopped these Toon fans from expressing their anger towards BeIN.
