Many Newcastle United fans have been responding to Jetro Willems’ recent tweet in which the Dutchman thanked the St. James’ Park faithful for making him feel at home, as he wished them well for the future.
Willems joined the Magpies on loan from Eintracht Frankfurt at the start of the season but unfortunately, the 26-year-old suffered a cruciate ligament rupture, ruling him out for the remainder of the season and he will now return to the Bundesliga club.
Here is how some of the club’s fans have responded to what appears to be the player’s farewell message:
I hope this isn’t the end Jetro! ?

Willems, who is valued at £4.95 million (as per Transfermarkt), made 19 appearances in the Premier League this season, scoring two goals, one of which was a goal at Anfield back in September (as per Transfermarkt.co.uk). His average performance rating in the English top flight prior to his injury was a respectable 6.84/10, according to WhoScored. Therefore, you can understand why some fans are disappointed to see him go.
Would you like to see Jetro Willems return to Newcastle someday?

It’s clear from the above responses that despite being with the Toon for just a short time, Willems made quite the impression on the Newcastle United fans.
