Speaking to Geoff Shreeves on the Sky Sports Football Podcast following the 3-0 win against Aston Villa on Thursday night, Paul Pogba was extremely complimentary of 18-year-old Mason Greenwood.
Goals from Bruno Fernandes, Greenwood, and Pogba himself secured another three points for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side (per BBC), and kept them firmly in the running for a Champions League spot ahead of next season. Greenwood has been something of a revelation for the Red Devils in recent weeks; having contributed four goals and an assist in his last three fixtures (per WhoScored).
Here’s what Pogba had to say about the academy graduate following the win at Villa Park:
“Very good. Like I said before, I enjoy to see them play in front. I enjoy this kid in training [and] in the game and I will keep pushing him to be at the top. He has so much to do again. He can do even more and what he’s doing right now, his talent, and he showed that he can play in this team.”

It is good to hear that Pogba highly rates Greenwood and wants to help him become a better player. Considering the teenager has now contributed 16 goals for United in all competitions this season, you imagine that he has established himself as one of the names on the team sheet and when you look at United’s form since the Premier League restart, there is no reason why fans can’t get excited about their chances ahead of next season, especially if Greenwood can continue his recent form in the next campaign.
