Liverpool scouts will be attending this weekend’s DFB Cup final in Berlin between Bayer Leverkusen and Bayern Munich (as per Sky Sports).

It’s been reported that Leon Bailey is interested in a move to the Premier League and he will have the opportunity to impress Jurgen Klopp’s scouts as well as representatives from Manchester City, Manchester United and Everton.

Bailey has made 22 appearances in the Bundesliga this season for Peter Bosz’s side, contributing five goals and three assists so far (via Transfermarkt). The Jamaica international joined the German club from KRC Genk in January 2017 for £12.15m and according to Transfermarkt, his value has since increased to £26.55m.

2018/19 season quiz: How many points did Jurgen Klopp's side accumulate in the Premier League?

His average performance rating in the league this season currently stands at 6.7/10 (via WhoScored.com) so there is still clearly much room for improvement in terms of his consistency. On average, he has 1.3 shots at goal per game and his strengths lay in his ability to shoot from distance, take free-kicks and successfully dribble past opponents. One of his weaknesses is said to be his lack of defensive contribution.

TIF Thoughts…

If Liverpool were to move for Bailey, we believe it could be with a view to him replacing one of Sadio Mane or Mohamed Salah in the future. At this moment in time, both of the aforementioned wingers have a far superior average performance rating to that of the Jamaican and have contributed an incredible 40 goals to Jurgen Klopp’s side this season between them.
