Liverpool journalist Chris Pajak has made a claim concerning Chelsea winger Willian.

This comes after Pajak recently made an appearance on the latest episode of The Redmen TV podcast to talk about some possible transfers the Merseyside club could make this summer.

2018/19 season quiz: How many points did Jurgen Klopp's side accumulate in the Premier League?

During the episode, Pajak made a case for the Reds to sign Willian on a free transfer when his contract at the London club runs out at the end of August.

He said: “I think he improves the squad, I think he’s a great player. I’ve always really liked him, since we first got linked with him a few years back was probably the first time I’d heard of him.

“Then the other thing with him is, for what Trent [Alexander-Arnold has] done this season, absolutely magic, but from free-kicks, Willian’s better than Trent. There’s more output there from direct free-kicks and stuff like that.

“I don’t know how many goals Willian gets a season, but every time I watch Chelsea, he seems to crop up with a goal.

“He is always causing havoc for the other team. His deliveries are unbelievable and there’s a space in the squad for somebody like that.”

Would you take Willian on a free transfer this summer?

Willian first signed to Chelsea back in 2013, since then, he has gone on to make 335 appearances for Frank Lampard’s side in which he has managed to score 63 goals and provide 62 assists along the way (per Transfermarkt).

This season, in particular, has seen the Brazilian, who is currently valued at £20.25 million according to Transfermarkt, in fine form for the London club.

Willian’s performances in his 33 Premier League appearances so far this season has earned him a season rating of 7.37/10, making him Chelsea’s second-highest rated player for this campaign (per WhoScored).

TIF Thoughts…

With bags of Premier League experience under his belt, Willian could be a good addition in Liverpool’s squad on a potential free transfer should the club choose to sign him.
