2018/19 season quiz: How many points did Jurgen Klopp's side accumulate in the Premier League?

Robertson was particularly complimentary about Brazil international Firmino during this podcast appearance, declaring that the 28-year-old is the hardest-working striker he’s ever seen.

The Scottish left-back went on to say: “He’s so unselfish. People say about his goals and stuff like that – ‘does he get enough goals?’ But for what he is to our team – you can’t replace, it’s impossible and for me, that’s why he’s one of the best in the world.”

Is Roberto Firmino irreplaceable?

TIF Thoughts…

Ahead of Liverpool’s clash with Arsenal on Wednesday evening, Firmino has scored 11 goals and provided 12 assists in 49 games for the Reds in all competitions this season. This makes him Liverpool’s third-highest goalscorer and joint-second highest assist provider for the 2019/20 campaign.

However, Robertson explained that the Brazilian is valuable for his side in ways other than just goals and assists, pointing to his hard-working nature as an example of his value to the Reds.

The Athletic’s Michael Cox has claimed that Jurgen Klopp’s decision to use Firmino in a ‘false 9’ role is one of the tactical innovations that helped transform this Liverpool side into champions and the tactics-focused journalist claimed that the primary reason why the Brazilian player was initially used in that role is that he is ‘the best player to lead Liverpool’s press.’

If so, then this may be an example of why Firmino’s work-rate is so important for this Liverpool side and that may explain why Robertson believes it would be difficult to replace Firmino.
