Liverpool left-back Andy Robertson joined Kris Boyd and Robert Snodgrass on a recent edition of The Lockdown Tactics and during this podcast, the 26-year-old Scotland international spent some time praising his Reds teammate Jordan Henderson.

During this podcast, Robertson was asked to put together his ‘five-a-side dream team’ and the £57.6m-rated left-back revealed that there would be a place in this team for Henderson.

2018/19 season quiz: How many points did Jurgen Klopp's side accumulate in the Premier League?

Robertson explained that he believes the Reds captain is “underrated” for his technical ability and described the midfielder as an “exceptional” player.

Here is what the 26-year-old left-back had to say about the Liverpool captain in full: “Technically, he is probably one of the most underrated players I’ve ever played with, in terms of – people never question his hard work and all that, but technically, when I first went to Liverpool, he blew me away. Probably similar to Tom Huddlestone [who Robertson played with during his time at Hull City], Hendo, technically, is exceptional.”

Is Jordan Henderson's technical ability underrated?

TIF Thoughts…

As per The Mirror, Henderson ‘has become renowned for his consistent work-rate’ during his time at Liverpool, however, the Reds captain has also shown plenty of technical ability during his time at Anfield.

In the Premier League this season, Henderson has played the sixth-highest number of passes per game, the joint-sixth highest number of key passes per game, and the fourth-highest number of long-balls per game of any Liverpool player, according to WhoScored.

These passing statistics may show that Henderson, who is valued at £25.2m by Transfermarkt, does have plenty to offer his side in terms of technical ability and it may be understandable why Robertson took the opportunity to point that out during this podcast appearance, considering that the midfielder who is ‘renowned for his consistent work-rate’ may not receive as much praise for that part of his game.
