During his recent appearance on the BBC’s Sportsound podcast, Robertson opened up about his “fantastic relationship” with Dalglish.

The left-back said: “We have a fantastic relationship, he always texts me and sees how I’m doing and same with me, I always check up and see how he and his family are doing, they’re a great family and he’s a fantastic person.

“He’s still always around the place and he’s a fantastic person to even just pick the brain of and I’ve spoken to him about Scotland as well as Liverpool. His experience in the game as a player, as a manager, as everything, as a legend, it’s second to none, it’s very hard to find that.

“He’s been a massive help to me, I always rely on his advice at times and it’s great to have somebody like that, that I can call upon.

“I’ve got a few people like that but there’s no bigger name in football than Kenny Dalglish, you’ll struggle to find any and since the day I’ve signed he’s been different class with me.”

TIF Thoughts…

It may be nice for Liverpool fans to hear how much help Dalglish has been giving to his compatriot Robertson, considering how successful the 69-year-old was during his time at Anfield

As per the Daily Mail, Robertson has described Liverpool as being “like a family” in the past and Dalglish’s welcoming attitude towards him may have played a part in giving him that feeling about the club.
