On the topic of Havertz and a potential deal from the Reds to sign him this summer, Addison shared that ex-Liverpool man Christian Ziege had suggested that the 21-year-old ‘should stay at Bayer Leverkusen for one more season’, and followed that up with this latest update.

He said: “It seems that the Liverpool links have died down a little bit. It looks like he may well end up at Chelsea.”

The 21-year-old, who is currently valued at £72.9 million according to Transfermarkt, has made a total of 148 appearances for the Leverkusen senior side in which he has managed to score 45 goals and provide 31 assists along the way (per Transfermarkt).

This season, in particular, has seen the German in super form for Leverkusen having scored 17 goals and provided nine assists for the club in 43 appearances across all competitions.

Havertz’s performances in the 30 Bundesliga appearances he’s made for Leverkusen this season has earned him a season rating of 7.24/10, making him their highest-rated player for this campaign (per WhoScored).

TIF Thoughts…

Given how impressive Havertz has been for Leverkusen so far this season, it’s understandable why both Liverpool and Chelsea are reportedly interested in signing him this summer.

However, with Addison’s latest update claiming that it’s likely that Havertz will switch to Chelsea over the Reds, this could end up becoming a similar situation with what happened with fellow German attacker Timo Werner who was snatched up by Chelsea after being linked with Liverpool.
