Liverpool journalist Chris Pajak has made a claim on Reds winger Mohamed Salah.

This comes after Pajak recently made an appearance on The Redmen TV, a YouTube-based Liverpool show to share his reaction to the Reds’ 3-1 win over Brighton & Hove Albion in midweek.

2018/19 season quiz: How many points did Jurgen Klopp's side accumulate in the Premier League?

On the topic of Salah, who scored a brace in the win at the Amex Stadium, Pajak shared his views on the winger.

He said: “I’ll be honest, he frustrates me at times. He’s not frustrated me for a few months, obviously, we haven’t had footy for a few months. There was a point during the season where I was getting really, really frustrated with Salah because he maybe wasn’t being that team player that I thought that Liverpool needed at the time but also, Liverpool need a goalscorer.

“It’s mad because I don’t know why this is but for some reason, I think he’s the most underrated striker in the league because he’s just consistently so good, he’s probably going to get three 20-goal seasons in the Premier League back-to-back.

“He’s the top scorer [in the] last two seasons, joint obviously with [Pierre-Emerick] Aubameyang and [Sadio] Mane last season, and yet is always spoken about as being a selfish player and not that good and a one-season wonder and yet, he’s consistently been the best player in the league since he waltzed back into the league and took it by storm.”

Do you think Salah is a selfish player?

The Egyptian joined Liverpool from AS Roma back in 2017 for a fee of £37.8 million. Since then, Salah has gone on to make 148 appearances for the Reds in which he has managed to score 94 goals and provide 40 assists along the way (per Transfermarkt).

This season has seen Salah in scintillating form for Jurgen Klopp’s side with his performances in his 30 Premier League appearances so far earning him a season rating of 7.49/10, making him Liverpool’s top performer.

His performance against Brighton in midweek saw him pick up a match rating of 8.75/10, making him the man of the match (per WhoScored).

TIF Thoughts…

Looking at his goals and assists record for Liverpool since his arrival at Anfield, there’s no doubt that he has been a special player for the club and as Pajak said, he’s done it consistently in every season for the Reds so far.
