Speaking on a recent edition of the Blood Red podcast, Mitchelmore provided his views on how Brewster has faired at the Liberty Stadium and the positive impact the break in football has had on him.

He said: “He’s still developing at a hell of a rate and I think that chance to work on his finishing and potentially other aspects of his game as well have certainly reaped the rewards, because he’s come back, he’s been absolutely flying – four goals since the restart and nominated to be Championship Player of the Month for June.

“I don’t think there was ever any concerns about how he was playing before. He was showing his worth then, but I think it’s just getting used to new surroundings, getting to know Cooper’s system. But I think you’re seeing the rewards of someone who’s had a prolonged period at the club, now.”

TIF Thoughts…

Since signing for the Swans, Brewster’s average performance rating in the Championship stands at 6.99/10 according to WhoScored.com. It is clear from Mitchelmore’s comments that the youngster has made quite the impression on those in South Wales.

Only Matt Grimes and Andre Ayew boast a higher average performance rating in the squad, which is evidence of the fact that the England Under-21s international has had an instant impact since making the move. Brewster is scheduled to return to Anfield at the end of the month when his current loan deal expires but it remains to be seen whether or not Jurgen Klopp will look to send him out on loan for another season in order to play regular first-team football.
