The Liverpool Echo’s head of sport David Prentice has been waxing lyrical over Everton’s Brazilian attacker Richarlison.

The 23-year-old forward has been situated at Goodison Park since the summer of 2018, when the Toffees agreed to a deal for him which could be worth up to £50m (per BBC).

Since his arrival, Richarlison has indeed proven his quality as he has bagged 29 goals and six assists in 78 appearances for the Merseyside outfit (per Transfermarkt).

In the latest episode of the Liverpool Echo’s Royal Blue: The Everton FC Podcast, Prentice discussed Richarlison and heaped praise on the forward.

To start this quiz on Richarlison with an easy one, how much did the Toffees pay to secure the Brazilian's services including potential future fees?

He said: “He’s pacey, we know that. He’s very strong in possession as well, and tactically he is learning all the time – and he works his socks off the whole time.

“He’s always chasing back, he’s always filling in holes. He is an absolute superstar in the making for Everton Football Club and I hope he’s at the club for a long, long time to come, because we’re only going to get more goals from him.

“[He’s a] very, very impressive footballer and if we can get the right players to play around him… We still don’t know exactly what Carlo [Ancelotti] has got planned for him, long-term.

“Up [until the match against Sheffield United] it looked like he would be one of two central strikers, in which case you can probably see even more goals coming from him in the future.”

TIF Thoughts…

As can be seen in what the journalist had to say, it is clearly his belief that Richarlison can improve even further for the Toffees in the future.

With the 23-year-old attacker already having been the club’s best-performing player this season with a 7.23/10 average rating (per WhoScored), Prentice’s statement certainly bodes well for the Merseyside outfit.
