In the latest edition of ESPN’s Caught Offside Podcast, JJ Devaney and Andrew Gundling have discussed the future of Weston McKennie.

To start this quiz on Richarlison with an easy one, how much did the Toffees pay to secure the Brazilian's services including potential future fees?

The podcast discussed many topics, but they spent a little bit of time on the Schalke midfielder.

Here is what Gundling said when asked about where McKennie could end up.

“So I’ve seen the links to Liverpool, which I’m going to be honest, I don’t love it.

“So, I know this is cliché for an American fan to say, but what about a club we talked about earlier that need overhaul everywhere, what about Everton?

“I think he could get into that squad; I mean, think about [their] central midfield: Anthony Gordon, Gylfi Sigurdsson, Tom Davies – how is that working out?”

It seems as if Gundling believes that Everton should make a move for McKennie as he would be able to get into their side.

Do you think McKennie would move to Goodison Park?

TIF Thoughts…

The 21-year-old had a solid season for Schalke as he scored three goals and earned an average rating of 6.78/10 in the Bundesliga (as per WhoScored).

As well as this, he also averaged 1.4 tackles per game and 1.6 interceptions per game, with the latter more than Everton’s top midfielder for interceptions, Morgan Schneiderlin – although the Frenchman beats him for tackles.

He has been linked with a move to Goodison Park, and with a Transfermarkt value of £18m, you would think the Toffees may be able to afford him.

However, the issue is that McKennie has also been linked with the likes of Liverpool and Chelsea, so if Everton want to bring him in, they might have to move quickly.

It will be interesting to see where McKennie ends up this summer.
