According to recent reports, Crystal Palace are ‘leading the race’ to sign Queens Park Rangers winger and reported Tottenham and West Ham target Eberechi Eze.
Eze has been one of the stars of the Championship this season, with the 22-year-old thriving for QPR, scoring 12 goals and providing eight assists for his side, averaging a WhoScored match rating of 7.34 – enough to rank him as QPR’s top performer by quite a considerable distance, as well as the fourth-best player in the entirety of the Championship, prior to Thursday night’s fixtures.
As a result of these impressive performances, the attacking midfielder has been linked with a summer move to the likes of Tottenham and West Ham in the past, however, recent reports by Football League World have claimed that a source close to the player has stated that Palace are now ‘leading the race’ for the £8.1 million-rated Eze, who is expected to be available for a fee of around £20 million over the summer.

With it being reported that Wilfried Zaha is once again set to be a target for a number of clubs over the coming transfer window, it would seem wise for Palace to anticipate the winger’s possible departure, and Eze would appear to be a prime candidate to replace the Ivory Coast international.
